I have a PhD in clinical psychology from Emory University in Georgia, and am a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of California. I have clinical experience from a wide range of clinical settings, such as a treatment-resistant depression clinic, an OCD and Anxiety intensive outpatient clinic, a veteran's PTSD clinic, a family clinic, a couples therapy clinic, and a suicide and crisis hotline. I have experience working with people from all walks of life, including refugees, immigrants, people of color, veterans, LGBTQ+ individuals, and many other members of our community. I currently work as a psychologist at UCSF studying the impacts of brief behavioral insomnia treatment on recent trauma survivors.
When working with clients, I draw on not just my academic and clinical experience, but my own life experiences as a "1.5th" generation Taiwanese-American who was born in the US, but grew up in both New Jersey and Taiwan. Before entering the field of psychology, I had a first career as a medical device engineer in silicon valley, working in R&D and product systems for more than seven years. In addition to my psychology degree, I hold a BA in biology with a focus in neuroscience, as well as a masters in biomedical engineering from Rutgers University in New Jersey.Â
In my spare time, I enjoy making things with 3d printers, practicing Dan Zan Ryu Jujitsu, and studying different areas of psychology that might help people to survive in this tumultuous age.
